Relationships Drive Toledo’s Growth
Your ability to maintain positive relationships within your organization and throughout the community is critical to ensuring and sustaining the success of your business – regardless of the goods and services you provide. Today, in the age of hyper connectivity, companies that have never had to pay attention to this fact in the past are now realizing exactly how much influence relationships have on their bottom lines. Now, more than ever before, employers must be positive forces in their communities. Not only must companies genuinely care about the well-being and professional development of their employees, companies must work to positively influence the communities they serve in ways that go beyond the scope of their general business models.
Lucas County has an ample supply of hard-working, talented men and women who are ready and willing to work hard for fair wages. These individuals are the backbone of AFI Contractors and the professionalism they bring to their positions and the overall quality of their work is a testament to the high-quality workforce available in Northwest Ohio. It makes me proud to have established a company that not only gives me the ability to put these individuals to work in positions that utilize the value of their skills, but provides them with opportunities to use their talents to complete projects located right here in and around Toledo.
I am especially appreciative of the relationships AFI has established our region’s labor unions. By working with our union leaders and supporting their initiates, I know that the workforce we employ is highly trained, committed to professionalism and believes in AFI’s mission of exceeding our client’s expectations. Because of this, I am always willing to do whatever I can to help our employees overcome any challenges they may be working through, personally and professionally, to help them realize even greater success.
America is rooted in the work ethic of our people. And this work ethic will fuel the growth of our country, our state, our county and our city well into the future. AFI is committed to putting these individuals to work as they continue to build our economy and the general infrastructure of our communities and we will always do everything we can to help our employees realize ongoing advancement in all aspects of their lives.
It Takes A Community
In Toledo and beyond, small to midsize businesses have a chance to do really great things by embracing innovation and progressive ideas to identify solutions that make sense and help overcome so many of the challenges that impact our communities. But to do this, business leaders must facilitate conversations with our community leaders. We must collaborate on many different levels and work together to bring about change that will fuel our future.
As the president and CEO of AFI Contractors, I am involved with quite a few community-oriented organizations, many of which have nothing to do with the work we perform – at least directly. But from the relationships we have formed when volunteering, serving on boards, being active members in several large-scale clubs and engaging in the events that benefit our area’s numerous nonprofit organizations, we are able to keep a finger on the pulse our communities. We are, after all, devoted to Lucas County in one way or another. For that reason we must continue to build each other up and identify ways to work together for the greater good of everybody who calls Northwest Ohio home.
Everything we do is in the best interest of our clients and our community and it is so important to maintain these positive relationships. From our employees, who at the end of the day are our brand ambassadors, to the numerous companies and organizations that are devoted to giving back, keeping projects local and building a better future for everyone. We are all in this together and we will continue to work in the best interest of our communities by maintaining relationships with the many others so many of us depend on to make Northwest Ohio a great place to live, work and play.
